March 30 -- A 5-magnitude earthquake in the Yugur Autonomous County of Sunan in northwestern Gansu Province. March 21 -- A 7.3-magnitude earthquake in Hotan Prefecture of northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. March 21 -- A 5-magnitude earthquake in Yingjiang County of southwestern Yunnan Province. Jan. 9 -- A 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Gerze County in Ngari Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region. 2007: July 23 -- A 5.5-magnitude earthquake at sea east off the coast of Hualien in Taiwan. July 20 -- A 5.7-magnitude earthquake in Tekes county of Kazak Autonomous Prefecture of Ili in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. May 5 -- A 6.1-magnitude earthquake on the border of Rutog and Gerze counties in Ngari Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region.
